About ASDO

Astha Social Development Organization (ASDO) is a non-government, nonpolitical and non-profit development organization formed in 1995. Since inception, ASDO has been serving the disadvantaged, vulnerable and extreme poor men, women and children including persons with disabilities and minorities through diversified program initiatives. 46% of children in Bangladesh live in poverty. ASDO plays a role in boosting the survival growth of these children by providing training to them who are neglected by the society, living on streets and forced to dropout from school because of financial difficulties as a result turning them onto a collection of human resources. The organization expanded its program in 16 districts under 6 different Divisions namely Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chittagong, Barisal and Dhaka of Bangladesh and working for around 450,000 men, women and children.

Background of ASDO

ASDO is a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization established in 1995 in Dinajpur and gradually the organization expanded its program in 16 districts under 6 Divisions namely Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Barisal and Dhaka. It has been making all-out effort to contribute to the attainment of SDGs through changing the living standard of disadvantaged and vulnerable people of the country.

ASDO provides its best efforts in bringing the poor Women and children to a better life with dignity in the family and society through their capacity building, adaptability, responsiveness, optimum use of their own/available resource, participation in development activities, good governance, establishment of their legitimate rights on a sustainable footing.
